Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer

Been around for a while but thought it deserved a spot on here for anyone whose missed it or just feels like watching it again…graphics look amazing but they always do in trailers and cinematics…but looking at how pretty Skyrim was even on consoles it might be feasible.

100 Ways to Die in Skyrim

Amusing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video that’s been floating on Youtube for about a week, figured I’d share it, spelling is a bit off in some parts but doesn’t really detract from anything.

Slow day since everyone’s out buying crap or at home avoiding the crowds and not doing anything.

Chrono Trigger on IOS

Chrono Trigger is scheduled for release on Ipod and the Iphone next month.

Chrono Trigger is probably one of the most re-released games of all time.

Definitely a classic game, I played the original SNES version as a kid and have gotten every incarnation since and haven’t been disappointed or wondered why in the world I ever liked it.

There is no exact release date as of yet, and an Android version is supposed to be in the works as well.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s new security secures accounts from their owners

1

If yer like me and just got invited (or reinvited after about a month in my case) to weekend testing you might notice the new “security” features they have added.

You are now required to answer several “secret questions” to further “protect” yer account.

These questions are asked upon attempting to log in to the launcher.

Sadly the answers you gave when entering them originally are not accepted as being correct…or worse yet it will ask you a question you didn’t even chose.

In order to get this fixed you have to make a phone call to their customer support and wait on hold for (as many have reported) an hour or longer.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m cancelling my pre-order, if this system is deeply flawed I can only imagine how far downhill the game has gone since I last tested it.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – Inside Reckoning

Inside look at the Destiny and Fate system in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Looks pretty good, not Skyrim good but definitely better than a lot of the RPGs I’ve seen or played lately (LotR: War in the North comes to mind…ugh).

The fact that R.A. Salvatore worked on it makes me even more interested…for those who don’t know, he is the creator of the Drizzt character in Forgotten Realms and has written many, many books for the series (as well as other series’).

The game is set for release February 7, 2012.

Max Payne 3

Max Payne 3 was announced a while ago and dropped off the radar for a period but it seems over the past couple months it has popped back up again.

So far it looks decent but also feels like a bit of a departure…time will tell though…for now there’s the trailer.

Pre-orders appear to be available (see link), release is set for March 2012 but considering how far away that is there’s still a chance of it being pushed back.

Skyrim!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s been out for a while now and my god is it glorious.

I’ve played roughly 50 hours of the game so far and despite some FPS issues (on the PS3) it has been fantastic. I have not done any of the main quest outside of what is required to complete the introduction and I still have tons to do before I have to go to it.

A few glitches I’ve come across to let other people know:

Forsworn Conspiracy – Save the game before doing the quest line, it tends to bug out at a certain point and leaves you unable to continue the quest.

General issue – Sometimes corpses will appear unlootable, if they do not register (IE no name stating it is a corpse and what the corpse is) wait 1 hour and it should be fine…this tends to correct a lot of issues such as NPCs turning randomly hostile etc.

If anyone has any other glitches etc. feel free to respond to this blog and I will add them in.

Wing Commander 3 on GoG

0

Probably the best game in the entire series, also one of the first to utilize live action FMV cutscenes to tell the story.

The game also features a “chose your own path” story line, although the choices are limited compared to what is offered in games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

Mark Hamill, John Rhys-Davies and Malcolm McDowell are the big names in this along with a few recognizable character actors (although the names probably mean nothing to you, such as that guy who played Biff on Back to the Future).

Hopefully GoG gets Prophecy as well, the PSN version of the game is almost completely unplayable as the controls look like they were mapped to the controller by a mentally challenged chimp.

Update: For anyone curious, the game plays pretty well with only a few minor video hiccups on my Windows 7 64bit system.

Smuggler Progression – SW:TOR

This video just recently came out for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Thanks to the NDA I can’t really remark on anything but I’m definitely looking forward to when the game is finally released.
